Mrs. Joceline Bailey-Murdock-7th Grade

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. J. Bailey-Murdock

My name is Joceline Bailey-Murdock and I would like to welcome your child to 7th grade.  This is my tenth year at Darlington Middle School; I am originally from Edgefield, SC where I graduated from Strom Thurmond High School.
Upon graduation I was accepted to Francis Marion University where I received my Bachelor's degree in History and a minor in geography.  As your child's teacher I look forward to giving them a chance to express their creative side and practice self-expression. In order to uphold this commitment, I plan to develop learning plans individualized to their needs and provide an open line of communication with you and your child to ensure your child's academic success.

This year as a 7th grader, you will be studying world cultures in which you studied in 6th grade.  However, you will focus on changes in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. “Contemporary Cultures 1600to the Present."  Each student will be given a South Carolina Standards Reinforcement Guide workbook in which they will need to keep up with and bring to class EVERY DAY, not only will this book be used in class but it will also be used for nightly homework assignments. Once again I look forward to making your child's transition into the middle stage of middle school as smooth as possible, but I will need your help as well to make this a successful year for all of us.  Once again I look forward to making your child's transition into the middle stage of middle school as smooth as possible, but I will need your help as well to make this a successful year for all of us.  In this class, your child will need the following materials daily to achieve academic excellence:
